Mid Senior Laravel Developer
About the Role
Vidgenie is looking for a skilled and motivated Senior Laravel Developer to join our growing team. In this role, you'll be responsible for building and maintaining robust backend systems that power our AI video creation platform. You'll collaborate with a global team to deliver new features, optimize performance, and ensure scalability as we scale our SaaS product to serve creators and agencies worldwide.
Your Responsibilities
Lead backend development using Laravel and related technologies
Design and maintain RESTful APIs to power our frontend and third-party integrations
Optimize application performance, scalability, and security
Manage and scale relational databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL)
Work closely with frontend developers, product designers, and AI engineers
Implement test coverage and CI/CD best practices
Maintain clean, reusable, and well-documented code
Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to key product decisions
What You’ll Need
5+ years of professional experience in Laravel/PHP backend development
Strong experience with REST APIs, database design, and ORMs (e.g., Eloquent)
Solid understanding of MySQL or PostgreSQL
Familiarity with Docker, containerized environments, and cloud deployment (AWS/GCP preferred)
Experience working with queue systems (e.g., Laravel Horizon, Redis)
Good understanding of application security, performance tuning, and caching
Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams
Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for clean, scalable code
Nice to Have
Experience with Laravel Octane or high-performance Laravel setups
Knowledge of NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB)
Familiarity with AI or media processing APIs
Understanding of GitOps workflows and CI/CD pipelines
Exposure to frontend technologies (Vue.js/React) is a plus
